Apart from the stunning views, Table Mountain has a unique array of flora and fauna. After lunch join us for a very special visit to the Cape Town Observatory. In 1821, the British Admiralty established a Southern Hemisphere branch of the Royal Observatory, Greenwich. The purpose was to set longitude and time and, in doing so, set the standard time for Southern Africa. We plan to meet with planetarium director Professor Tony Fairall, who will lead us on a fascinating journey through the history of astronomy in Cape Town.
    Dinner this evening will be at one of Cape Town’s most popular restaurants, where you will find Cape hospitality in a charming historic atmosphere.

Day 11 – Tue, Dec. 10 Wine Country                                            B/L/Meals aloft
    After our morning check-out, we’ll travel to South Africa’s famous Wine Country and the town of Paarl, whose name reflects the "pearl like" appearance of the mountain that dominates the area. We will stop at one of the many wine estates for a tasting followed by a farewell lunch near the grand Dutch homestead of Constantia. Our afternoon drive will delivers us to Cape Town Airport for our return flight to the US.
