Deutsche Polarflug, Germany,
our exclusively chartered aircraft will
leave from the easily accessible Köln/Bonn
airport in Germany. We’ll intercept the
Moon’s shadow over the Arctic Ocean and
experience more time in totality than is
possible from anywhere on the ground. |

opportunity, we have assembled a technical
team that includes Sky & Telescope’s
J. Kelly Beatty and astronomer Dr. Glenn
Schneider. The expertise of these veteran
eclipse-chasers proved invaluable in
planning and executing two highly successful
airborne intercepts of the
November 2003
total solar eclipse over Antarctica. |

This flight has been chartered for the dual purpose
of viewing the Total Solar Eclipse and flightseeing
over the Arctic and North Pole. TravelQuest is
handling bookings for eclipse viewing, while
Deutsche Polarflug is handling bookings for
flightseeing only (no view of totality). We are
working cooperatively to ensure that the flight plan
allows our eclipse chasers to view totality and to
enjoy flightseeing en route to and from the North
Pole. |

To further assure great
eclipse viewing for everyone aboard, we are limiting
the capacity on our Airbus 330-200 aircraft. Before
and after the eclipse, there will be plenty of room
to move around and view from both sides of the
aircraft, all the while enjoying expert commentary
on the eclipse, North Pole geography/history, and
the natural wonders below us. Our flight will
also include international-class food and beverage
service. |
